  • License Setup 

    All Chaos Group products may be licensed through a USB dongle programmed with a corresponding license number. Some products may also be licensed through a new online system, as well.

    Traditional dongle-based licensing is based on a hardware (USB) dongle that physically installs on an end-user's system or on a machine that acts as a license server for all systems on the network. Dongles are programmed with license numbers into the hardware of the dongle allowing you to manage all the licensing needs across the Chaos Group products.

    Online Licensing System is a secure way to license certain products online without the need for a physical USB dongle. Online Licensing for all products will be available in the near future. This is a highly-encrypted centralized online system that manages licenses for all your systems.

    The Online License System also provides for users to "borrow" licenses from their online accounts and work offline without having a hardware dongle, for up to 14 days at a time.

    Online Licensing is currently only available V-Ray for MODO, VRScans, and certain beta access products. Hardware Dongle Licensing is available for all products.
